    DiY adjustable ridgeline

I am trying to make an adjustable ridgeline for my hammock with a 101" piece of zing it only. I don't want to splice the line or use any extra hard ware. I was wondering if there were any knots that I could use to make this ridgeline adjustable?

Not that would hold. The slick coating on Zing it does not hold tension knots well and for a RL that can get a good bit of stress it will likely move with each set up...not what you want with a RL.

What's so hard about splicing? Trust me, it's way easier that you think and all you need is a sharp knife and a piece of wire.

Splicing is the way to go for adjustable hammock ridge line. You can buy one from Marty at Wilderness Logics. Also you will need a longer section of line to complete your project. If you insist on using knots for this job, try an alpine butterfly loop on one end and a Farrimond Friction Hitch on the other. Or once you figure your exact length you can try an alpine butterfly loop on both ends; then larks head the loop onto your hammock. WIlderness Logics and many of our cottage vendors ship fast and make top quality hammock gear. Good luck!

The only problem I had with splicing was I became addicted, my family thought I had lost my mind.

If you just have to use knots instead of splicing, use a bowline on the fixed end and a truckers hitch on the other end. Neither will slip, but length adjustment will be a little more fiddly.

If the truckers hitch slips at all, add an extra twist or two to the knotted parts and that will reduce the chance of it slipping.

Else I would suggest the bowline on one end and a Double Figure-of-Eight (AKA- Figure-of-Eight on a bight, or Figure-of-Eight loop) on the other end. The figure-of-eight is an easy knot to tie and also easy to remove. http://www.animatedknots.com/fig8follow/ It will not slip in the zing-it.
