    Thanks for the advice CamoDeafie82! I was thinking about sewing channels in the ends and using some high strength cordage in a continuous loop through it. Like you said, it would give a little bit of the length back.

    I'm probably going to finish this one for my daughter either way. I just ordered more nylon for a longer one. Going to try and make sure I end up with 11 feet finished length at least.

    I definitely have a bug now...

    Watched a few videos on how to do a tarp, then UQ/TQ ... Then watched the series on how to do a DIY backpack. This could get ugly.
