Smile Hello from Northern New Jersey

Hi everyone, I am Eddy. I have been lurking around the forums for about 4 months now and finally decided to chime in. Your amazing conversations, advice, and wealth of knowledge has gotten me hooked on hammocks. I am testing out a cheaper rig with integrated bug netting, to see if I am a true hammock camper. I need to do this because I can feel myself yearning for some of the more expensive models. Looking forward to future conversations and enjoying the general warmth of the forums. Thanks for everything so far.

    -Eddy

    Welcome from the Jersey Shore.

The first time I heard the words "camping hammock" five years ago was when I became a true hammock camper. I committed to staying off the ground and haven't slept one the ground since!

Thanks everyone. I have setup a Blue Sky Mosquito hammock twice in my in laws back yard.

I upgraded the suspension to 1inch tree straps and whoopie slings. So far I like hanging. Still working on getting the hanging angle right and the diagonal lay. I am sure a more expensive model would fee better on the skin and sag a lot less. I am going to try camping in the back yard for a night when it gets a bit warmer. It has been too cold lately.

    Yo yo from Hudson County!

Different types of hammocks offer different hanging experiences, but I would personally start with a gathered-end design, as they are simple and comfortable.
