Wilderness Logics UQ vs Hammock Gear Phoenix

Sorry if this thread is beating a dead horse.

The time has now come for me to upgrade to an UQ.

I was looking for a 3-season 3/4 UQ that can perform adequate service in the 4th season (with a Therma-Rest). My budget was $200 max ($10-15 over is acceptable).

I've narrowed it down to two choices: Wilderness Logics 15*, or HG Phoenix 20*. I was going to go with a Warbonnet 3S Yeti but I really would prefer to have the extra length as this will be my only UQ (at least for a while).

I have a Warbonnet Blackbird, and was wondering how either of these will fit. Has anyone had experience with these UQ's and a WBBB?

Also open to other UQ suggestions. Thanks. -Tom

    Hello from Monmouth County!

I can't comment on the Wilderness Logics UQ's (although I have their quick clips and Marty is awesome to deal with) but I have a 10* incubator and it is top-notch.

I used it last weekend for the first time and it was rock solid. I'm actually taking it out again in a few hours for another trip this weekend. It's supposed to get below freezing tonight with frost warnings. Yea, it's the end of April.....I think?

So no this is not a post that will help you determine your answer since I don't have both to compare, but I can tell you you can't go wrong with the HG under quilts. Good luck choosing!

    Here's my Incubator last weekend:

I'm on the fence myself with this same comparison. I'm looking at the 40F models though. I have a 20F Jacks R Better Greylock that I really like. Just thinking about a summer quilt and I've narrowed it down to these two as well. I have quite a bit of gear from Marty and it's all 'top notch' and the deliveries have always been really fast as well.

I have a Phoenix and a WL 40° UQ. Love then both... both work on my XLC and BB.
That doesn't help you chose but both are great companies/products.

I have a Phoenix and love it. Also have a WL top quilt and my sons each have one and we really love them. WL makes very high quality quilts.

Thanks for all the replies fellas, very helpful. Now that it's confirmed both will work with my WBBB, I'm gonna throw Marty at WL some business.

Good choice , it's my go to quilt for all weathers.
If you suspend it from the ridge line, you can vent it by sliding two knots around.
You won't even have to get up to change the settings.

I have a Yeti 3 season and the 2/3 length is not a problem. It covers from my shoulders to around halfway down my thighs (I'm 6'1”), which is the most important part. The back pad from my Gossamer Gear Gorilla covers the rest. The Yeti is a bit narrower than the HG so it does not interfere with the timeouts on my BBXLC. At $190 you can't beat the price.

I had the Wilderness Logic 40° summer under quilt and I sold it and bought a Phoenix 40°. I just couldn't stay warm below 53°f. I read a lot of posts that said they could get their WL summer quilts well below the stated temperature, but it didn't work for me.
