    fronky style bugnet???

Well I'm either gonna get dutches summer sock or dutches fronky style bugnet. I use a argon 10ft and I know bugs can bite thru it. So my question is does the fronky style rest right up against the bottom of your hammock when closed? Or does I hang away enuff to keep bugs from bitting thru. Last question has anyon used a Dutch summer sock I like the bottom being uquilt proprotection but not sure if it will keep bugs from bitting from the bottom up or if the argon on the bottom will just be too hot for summer. Please any thoughts or replys would be awesome. Happy hanging

Go with the fronkey bug net. It will keep the bugs off the bottom and offers better ventilation.
Everyone ought to believe in something....I believe I'll go set up the hammock!

The Fronkey-net will seal against your uq, so no biting through there.

Ok cool thanks everyone. I guess if it's really hot I'll just lay on my poncho liner top quilt for extra piece of mind. Fronky style it is!

Fwiw I never cinched my fronkey style. For whatever reason the bugs don't seem to fly up under it.

I never cinched mine up either, and have never had a mosquito get in. Of course, that could be because I've sprayed the heck out of the bugnet with permethrin. However, when I was using a hammock with an integrated bugnet sprayed with permethrin, the skeeters would just follow me into the hammock. They'd get in some bites before running into the bugnet and meeting their demise.

I was looking on Dutch's site last night and the 11ft nets were out of stock but I received an email today saying they were expecting them in today. I think I'm going to get one for my DIY hammock.

I tried the Fronkey BN but found that trying to find the opening in the wee wee hours was a PITA. I blame it more on age than the design. Then in 2013 I spent 2 1/2 months in Maine during the summer in the hammock and noticed two things. The loose BN just draped against the sides of the hammock and with the permethrin soak those that landed on the outside of the BN just sat there until they died. Very entertaining the first time I noticed it. I have since reduced the BN to a simple / minimal Fronkey and haven't had any problems. YMMV.
