Unfortunately all good things must come to a end and so did the Fatt Butt Hang this AM as we all packed up to leave. I did gain 5 pounds during the hang from all the good food.
In attendance were myself and The Terminator, Pappy Amos, Hot Lips and Kingsford, MomMeck and DadMeck, Tacoma96 and Chiefette66 and Spike the dog, Starfish Comet. Buddy and Matt.
For Buddy, this was his second group hang and for Matt this was his first. I think Matt will be ordering his own hammock very soon. Matt also gained his trail name of WHW...Well Hung Waffle.
The weather was great, no rain, partly clear skies with some clouds and a slight wind. Lows at night were in the low 50's which made for good sleeping weather and it got up to the high 70's low 80's. There were a few ticks and skeeters out.
Several of the folks hiked the trails and or went kayaking and brought back some great pictures of the alligators in the area. By the time I made it to the park Office all the canoes and kayaks were rented out for the day.
The owls were not as noisy as they have been but they did keep us entertained with their screaming demon monkey calls.
We played lab rat for Hot Lips as she was testing out some new recipes on us ( probably why I gained 5 lbs ). If you went hungry this hang is was not for a lack for great food.
MomMeck and DadMeck brought several of their new Hammered Copper Hammock stands to the Hang and that Hammered Copper is a really great look. A couple of them found new homes here. They also brought a stand that I had ordered for The Terminator as a surprise B'Day present after seeing her looking at them at the Florida Hang. I helped DadMeck set it up ( or maybe I got in the way, I'm not sure ) and then got the Terminator to come over and asked her how she liked it. She said she liked it so I told her Happy B'day. Took her a couple of minutes to realize it was hers. DadMeck and I then moved the stand over to where her hammock was set up and re set it on to the stand which she used for the next two nights. The Terminators stand came with the optional bridge hammock adapter which worked out great as she was using her RidgeRunner hammock.
Got a chance to talk to Mecks and trade suggestions on their products and try and find out what new items they may have coming out. I am now their unoffical offical NC sales promoter and representative. Means I get to say good things about their products but I don't get paid .
Tacoma96 brought ice cream and many us did our best to eat it all, I had several Nutty Buttys, Snickers, Ice Cream Sandwitches and Toll House Cookie sandwiches....good stuff. .
Hot Lips led a very deep philosophical discussion of about waffles and spaghetti. As this is a family friendly site I can not go into the details of the discussion but there were lots of laughs
