    Hello from Scotland!

Hi everyone! I've been a keen tent camper for the past few years but have just bought myself a DD Frontline hammock, although I can't actually remember why! Now I'm keen to try it out, although I'll be taking a tent along as well to begin with, just in case. My husband thinks the whole camping thing is a middle-age crisis, so I haven't even mentioned the hammock yet!

Looking forward to tapping into your expertise as this is a whole new thing for me. I camp year-round so have worked out how to keep warm under canvas, but I have a feeling that keeping warm and dry in a hammock will be a different challenge altogether, especially as I sleep cold and am thinking of trying out the hammock for the first time in the highlands of Scotland in winter! I have a tarp, a DD Underblanket and a mat in addition to all my clothing and bedding so really looking forward to it!

    Hey, and welcome from Midlothian!

Keeping warm and dry isn't any more difficult than in a tent, just a bit different and everyone does different things to achieve the same thing, I think that's what makes hammocks so fun and why everyone here likes talking so much about them so much. This place has a rediculous amount of info, shouldn't be too difficult to find what you're looking for and if it is, just ask

Thanks Craige! A member from Scotland - yeah! I have a feeling it's going to be a bit of a steep learning curve, this hammock thing. I've just strung it up in the back garden and got in for a few minutes and now I'm feeling queasy! Maybe I shouldn't have tried swinging!

Yep, we're a rarish breed on here, although there are a few.
Ha, you'll learn to enjoy the gentle swing.
