    Test run

Finally got out last night in the backyard. Months of reading threads and learning here!image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg first night sleeping in a hammock ever! I woke up a few times but way better than on the ground! Stayed warm all night with my Zeppelin and REI bag!

Nice looking setup you've got there. The first night is the best... kind of a giddy/anxious feeling.

Did you wake up because you had to pee, or just because it is a bit unfamiliar? I used to wake up quite a few times a night. Sometimes to pee, sometimes for no apparent reason, but I think it was just the unfamiliarity. I don't wake up anymore unless I have to pee, or the wind gets crazy and my tarp starts making a bunch of noise.

Sleeping in a hammock has also changed how I sleep in my bed. My girlfriend says it freaks her out, because I'm laid out flat on my back with my arms folded on my chest... she says I look dead

Congrats on your first night. It only gets better.

A few weeks ago I finally got a nice day to paint the stand. I've been stockpiling parts all winter, hammock ,tarp quilt and just received my Dutch tarpflies. And Friday night was it! I hope I can make the next Stokes hang! Or if time allows maybe the Pine Barrens!
