I Live in Eugene and love to throw the hammock up when ever I get the chance, If anyone wants to make a day/weekend/week of it let me know. I don't drive at the moment but have hammock, will hang. Waiting on my HG Incubator 20* and then it's on. I usually go it alone, but I would love the chance to hang out with other slackers

Why don't you start a trip planning thread and see if you get peeps to make the run.. You might be surprised.
A lot fo hangers from Eugene area.. that's not that far out, not sure we have had any big hangs that far south yet..

I am doing the Three Sisters Loop August 9-14. You probably don't have time to do the whole loop, but we could meet at the Lava Lake TH on Sunday night (Aug 9) and we could do one or two nights together. Our current plan is to get in late Sunday afternoon and just hike in to the first campsite, then start hiking the big loop early Monday.

This may not meet your criteria: not exactly Portlandish. I'm also not "local", being from Tucson and all, but been hanging for 7 years.

I'm staying with my daughter in Portland for several weeks after the hike, and would be interested in additional weekday hangs through the first week of September. We could do someplace on the West slope of Hood. I did some nice hanging 6 years ago in Banks-Vernonia State Park - the campgrounds have great trees, and it's the closest hang I've found to PDX.
