thanks for sharing. can i guess that you were near bwi? i've always camped at established campgrounds, but i plan to start dispersed camping this year. care to share this location over PM so i might check it out?
I'll PM you, novasquid. This place is in the flight path of Dullus.
awesome, i live near dulles so i definitely want to check it out!
Looks like a nice, relaxing, peaceful trip. Thanks for the video
Way to go, glad you enjoyed the weekend.
Smart move with the white cord. Those types of woods all look the same.
I carry a tiny power pack that will give 2 1/2 charges to my iPhone and a spare set of batteries to my other stuff 3 AAAs and 2 AAs. I don't plan on using them - but they are there.
Extra batteries are always a good idea. When I first starting hiking with the GPS I usually brought an extra battery, just in case. I never used it and it was just one extra thing for the pack. A few years ago I said the heck with it, and stopped carrying the extra battery. I suppose if I was going for a longer journey it would make more sense, but I knew where I was. Since I made the video I cut up some strips from a blue plastic bag and have put them in my first aid kit. I figure blue plastic is more viewable than white cord. Maybe I'll nab some of those trail marker strips I see on the trees along the trail, they look a little more sturdy.
