Cool New MacCat Gen4 announcement this weekend

    Good evening to all!

I'm proud to announce that after several months of research and development work, this weekend I'll be completely revamping my signature MacCat line of hammock tarps. Lighter, better performance, more pack-able, same great color choices. Specs and photos to come this weekend, so stay tuned for more details!

Also, a silicone impregnated polyester option. Performance at a whole new level.

Sounds cool. I've been looking for a poly tarp.

I'm with SS- cool. I've been thinking poly rather than silnylon- no stretch so I should be able to lose the guyline tensioners. looking forward to your offerings.

I almost pulled the trigger on a maccat 2-3 months ago, emailed a couple question, got no response.

    Is your contact link broken?

Are any tarps in the new material going to have doors? (BIG fan of doors to keep blowing rain out)

I will be wholeheartedly looking forward to this as I my first MacCat Deluxe that I regretfully sold.

Wth is an impregnated silicone poly?
What are the pros and cons vs the sil?

Thumbs up New MacCats are live!

Everything is finally live - take a look at our updated models at our site.

A brief summary of what the new Gen4 models can do:

    • 5-10% weight reduction over our entire line
    • New structural polyester ridgeline greatly expands strength
    • New 20D silnylon is quieter and packs down to 50% of the size
    • Exclusive 'Zero Force' ridgeline tieouts offer the same strength that OES tarps always have. Don't accept less!
    • New SilPro polyester 20D x 50D (some of you may know this fabric by another name ) version of the MacCat Deluxe. Super low stretch premium model. When combined with OES construction, no downsides - just better performance. Most of the way towards cuben stretch minus the cuben fiber price. This tarp is my new go-bag tarp.

Check out the site for some new photos.
