    Life Span of Whoopies

About how long do people here estimate the lifespan of a set of whoopie slings to be before they should be swapped out for a new set? I just installed whoopies on my hammock and even after just a few times messing around with them in my yard they seem to be frayed and splitting a bit. Now I'm obviously not worried about them, but certainly there will be a time when they should be replaced for both fresh functionality and for safety reasons. When does everyone here think that is and how much abuse can they take? How many "hangs" or sleeps can be pulled from a single pair?

Years. But check for wear regularly.

Like Paul said, years. I have one pair with over 100 nights and they are holding up better than me.

There should not be any "fraying and splitting" after a few uses unless you have them connected to some type of hardware that is causing damage.

I suspect you may be referring to the normal displacement of strands where the tail end exits the adjustable bury. This is normal.

Thanks, gmcttr, for the excellent photo. Mine look exactly like that and I was wondering, too.
    Cheers.
