Usable Line With Micro Line Locks Vs. Micro Lock 3's

I just purchased some new reflective micro cord 1.2 from Arrowhead to replace my existing Lawson cord. Simply just having fun trying to cut some more weight. I use the line lock 3's from Zpacks now with a 6' guy line. The usable distance I can pull tension on my tarp using them is pretty much the whole 6' to the point where I can tension the tarp right down to the stake if needed. I have never used the micro line cam locks before; If Im looking at it right the cam lock with loop goes around your stake and the cam lock slides up the "live" line back to the tarp? If so once the cam lock reaches the tarp your out of adjustment; This cuts your usable tension distance down to half (3'). Am I seeing this correctly? And anyone out there using these micro cam locks ever had issues with not enough adjustment? Just wondering if I would be better off with my original micro 3's.

I don't think the line loc 3's will hold with the 1.2 line.

Yes, I am aware of that thanks. I am switching over the micro cam locks with the 1.2 but am worried I wont have as much adjustment as I previousley did with the line loc 3's and the lawson cord

    Yes.

If you really need 100% adjustment over the whole line, you could try dutch tarp fleaz. You get the same adjustment as line loc 3's and they adjust from the tarp end, rather than the stake end and they work with much smaller line than the line loc's..

Thank you Martyn....That answers my question. I wish they made the micro 3's for smaller line. I really like how fast and easy they are.

Yeah, they are easy to adjust. FYI, if you switch to the mini line loks and use them upside down, you will get the same range of adjustment as the line loc 3's. Not quite as slick to use though. My fav is Dutch's tarp fleaz though, love em.

I have alot of Dutch bling already. Never looked at the fleas. Will have to check the weight. This whole project started out to cut weight. Thanks for the info. I will try the cam locks first and see.
