    The North Woods

There are a few thing i enjoy more then being in the woods, but not much.

    Hello hammockforums,

Im looking forward to learning a thing or two about hammocks so i figure this might be the place to start. I bought a HH scout zip and love it. I hope to upgrade someday but honestly its met all my needs so far. Are there any tips or advice you can give a new found hammocker?

    Thanks,

    EA

Hello and welcome to the forums. Lots of info here as well helpful people. Not really a tip as much a preference but I suggest trying to connect your tarp to the trees instead of attaching them to the hammock suspension. I think there is more versatility in doing so. Have fun!

I'm joining you from Minnesota. Most of my hanging has been done in the BWCA. I've loved the flexibility of not needing a sizable, dry tent spot. Many of the 3* sites are now in the 5* range for me and I'll be able to utilize even more lakes with more primitive campsites otherwise avoided by the ground dwelling folks. Can't wait to get into the quilt mix and figure out what works best for me. So far the biggest takeaway I've got is "Get a WBBB". I'll hopefully do it sometime soon.

Welcome! My best tip for you is to attend a local group hang. They are a ton of fun and you can learn a ton of new tricks, see all kinds of setups, and eat a ton of great food!
