"You Do Not Go to Ground" photo contest

I'm starting the "You Do Not Go to Ground" photo contest. Begins now and runs 1 week. The rules are simple: Post a picture here of you not "going to ground." It can be could be using structures or vehicles or stands but lets see some creative hang options that have kept you up off the ground. A true Hammock Junkie knows they do not sleep on the ground at any cost. Best photo that shows not going to ground wins some sweet AHE gear and bragging rights. Bonus points for AHE gear in your photo.

The forth rule: Only one hammock to a set of trees.
Fifth rule: One hammock at a time fellas.
Sixth rule: No sharp objects or shoes in the hammock

Here is a picture of my hammock and tarp set up at my favorite lake in the Ruby Mountains in 2012.

    DSC02020.jpgDSC02021.jpg

There are not many trees close to this lake so I had to tie one end of my hammock and tarp to a rock. The tree strap is wrapped around a rock wedged in a crack. I piled the other rocks on top to make sure it didn't slip out.

I hung in this spot in 2014 but I must not have taken a picture of it. I have my Flamethrower quilt on my hammock which you can't see under the Superfly tarp. The tree strap is one made by AHE.

I originally put this pictures in the wrong thread. Oh well, I'll double up.

Here are two variations of my stand in use. One as a single end with a tree and the other in a field with not a tree to be found. The other one is using a tensegrity stand at a camporee. I have one of when I setup in a cattle loading shoot somewhere, if I can find it.

My son has caught the hammock bug from me. Ghese are a few shots of his more "unique" hanging spots.

Atop Bear Tooth above the tree line. I was with him as we were returning from his Summer in Yellowstone. The altitude got to me so we didn't get all the gear out. It did take a lot of straps to get around the rocks.

Sometimes you just don't go to ground, even if it means sitting at the bus stop.

He and him roomie spent many nights there. There was enough room and branches for about six hammocks. It over looked the Gardiner River and Mammouth Springs.

Lunch break nap at work. Who needs trees when you've got work trucks?

IMG_32396092669098.jpegI posted on thr AHE Facebook page because I cant figure out how to post pics on this site. Hope you like it. Nevermind I figured it out. The trees were to small to hang in so this was the next best place. Notice our new Potomac UQ's.

I had an image pop into my head the minute I read this, but I won't be able to take that photo any time soon so feel free to shoot if you want:
I see a hammock among some tents using the actual tent poles as ... Err trees? I know it's not really possible but it sure shows some determination to follow rule 1 and 2.

    Btw great initiative Paul.
