i am still confused and i think i cant even explain why.

    lets try.

    first of all.
i dont know if i prefer a right or left lay.
i think it depends on the view, nearest friends, campfire location, etc.

looking the picture below, all i can decide is that i need my zippers openings in the same side of my feet, to get in and out easily.

    hammock-zipper-spin2.jpg

but looking to above draw, it seems that i can maintain my feet in the same side of zippers both in right and left lay, just turning myself upside dow, providing i keep my head in the same side of hammock ridgeline.

so, if i can do a left or right lay in the above draw ( that has zipper for overcover) just moving myself, not the hammock, why do you guys say that i cant have this in a dream hammock?

    it seems confusing to me.

if i can do in the draw, why not on the real thing?

    thanks for the clarification

You can do either of those lays in a Dream Hammock, but if you look at the picture the angle of the body is going along the same line in both, despite the zipper being on the different sides. Some of us, like me, prefer to lay with our heads and feet on the other side of the hammock, which would make an X on the drawing you have there, putting our heads on the bottom and feet at the top of the drawing. That's one of the reasons I got a Freebird, I didn't know which I preferred and didn't know anyone with a hammock to try.

Some people don't have a preference in which way they lay, and are able to go with the view, others just feel uncomfortable one way or another and prefer to stay laying on one angle, left or right. And sometimes you don't know until that moment when you lean back in a hammock itself for the first time.

    Hope that helps!

    I know one thing...
My skeeter beater pro didn't limit the direction I laid in it like my "supposedly better" WBBB does.

I think I may have been led astray by the hype on these forums...

Didn't think there were left or right hand hammocks.

what I find interesting is that the OP says they had an XLC which enables yu to zip off the net ('foot box' included) and can then experiment with the left lay... but apparently they never thought of doing that?

That pix from The Ultimate Hang really helped me see the situation. Thanks for postig it, Singingcrowsings! Now it seems to me that with a DD Asym I will be able to sleep on either my left or right side without trouble. The limitation is in the way I would face the world. So it would not be possible to face a great view if is at the top right. Have I got it??

This has got me thinking... If I want to switch the lay of my Thunderbird could I just have a different bugnet and overcover made?
