Hello everybody,
Years ago I bought and sold back 2 hammocks to street vendors in Merida, Mexico. After buying one, I learned that this one was better and then that one was better etc... Finally I asked the right people for help and ended buying "Matrimonial" Hammocks. You step in the center of it, then to test it's width you put half of it's remaining width above your head and the remaining 1/4 should come back down to the ground again. So stretched out the width should be approximately 28 feet. It has to be made of cotton and the cotton cord diameter has to be tiny.
I don't know how much about backpack hammocking. But, I am learning.
I have a Warbonnet Superfly that is being made for me.
Tonight I purchased from Dutchwaregear:
A Nylon D double layer hammock!
8 Titanium Dutch hooks (for the Warbonnet)
8 Loops of Amsteel
And other Dutch bling....
I have watched a lot of shugemery videos and I have also read a lot of posts here as well.
I have learned a lot about: Underquilts and topquilts but I'm not ready to buy expensive ones yet. I have a primaloft topquilt being made and will use my sleeping pad underneath me for now. Mild rainy weather is where I expect most usage to be....
Anyways,
Thanks for the information.
