    Newbie to silnylon hammocking....

    Hello everybody,

Years ago I bought and sold back 2 hammocks to street vendors in Merida, Mexico. After buying one, I learned that this one was better and then that one was better etc... Finally I asked the right people for help and ended buying "Matrimonial" Hammocks. You step in the center of it, then to test it's width you put half of it's remaining width above your head and the remaining 1/4 should come back down to the ground again. So stretched out the width should be approximately 28 feet. It has to be made of cotton and the cotton cord diameter has to be tiny.

I don't know how much about backpack hammocking. But, I am learning.

I have a Warbonnet Superfly that is being made for me.

    Tonight I purchased from Dutchwaregear:

A Nylon D double layer hammock!
8 Titanium Dutch hooks (for the Warbonnet)
    8 Loops of Amsteel
    And other Dutch bling....

I have watched a lot of shugemery videos and I have also read a lot of posts here as well.

I have learned a lot about: Underquilts and topquilts but I'm not ready to buy expensive ones yet. I have a primaloft topquilt being made and will use my sleeping pad underneath me for now. Mild rainy weather is where I expect most usage to be....

    Anyways,

    Thanks for the information.

Welcome! You ought to enjoy the Dutch being. How are you planning to use all those Dutch hooks?

Welcome from TX! It's always interesting to me to hear what people that are new (as am I) buy first, second, and so on.

    Hello everyone,

I plan on using 8 Titanium Dutch hooks and the 8 Loops of Amsteel in the Warbonnet set up. I haven't worked out the details just yet
I will be going on some short hikes and hopefully nice hangs (? is that the term) in the summer. Just getting ready!
I have most of what I think I'll need...

Welcome to the forum. I'm sure you'll pick up even more tips and tricks when you start hanging, then you'll be right back on here looking for more. At least that's what happened to me.
