Good idea but it would not help me as I do not use SRL's on my DIY hammocks and I do not have to worry about it with a netted hammock.

So far, I haven't lost a TQ overboard, but I can see the net preventing that from ever happening. I like that I now have a choice of net/no net with the Netty. As you mentioned in your review, the zippers are easy to use. My hammock is about a year old, and looks to be in like new condition. The HF member I purchased it from used it about 5 times on the trail. Really well made piece of gear. Not super light weight, but that's not an issue for me in my kayak or raft. I'm really happy that I took a chance and pulled the trigger on this hammock.

Well written review gunner, better then the one I could've written. Like we Said before almost identical set ups, I have the top peekaboo, in black and I did not get the extra bugnet, but I do not regret it because I think it gives plenty of airflow when thw peekaboo is completely zipped, but who knows dead of summer great view perhaps I'll wish for one...
It's not the boulders that throw us off balance, it's the pebbles beneath our feet
Glad I got the bug net, just in case because it does get buggy here between the deer flies and salt water skeeters.

Is the cover waterproof?
No, you'll still need a tarp. The idea is that if a hammock top cover were water proof, it would get super duper humid inside, mighty fast, from your breath. Instead, it's breathable, but will still help retain some heat and block some of the chilling wind that can rob your heat in cool weather.
Makes sense. It would be cool if there was a waterproof version with vents like you get on tents (awning over a window). I live in a warm weather area with storms so I wouldn't ever really need it to keep heat it but it would be fantastic if it could keep the occasional shower out.
