Looking for New Location in SC/NC/GA

I had a group of friends all set to go camping at the location of the John Rock hang off Cat Gap Loop. We have a few backpackers in the group, but there are also several car campers who are bent on not straying too far from the cars. Apparently, this means less than one, which rules out the site I had originally selected where the group hang takes place. Does anyone know of any other nice camping spots that only require a very short hike to reach in the area? By "area" I mean anywhere near the corner of SC/GA/NC.

I've taken this same group to Black Balsam Knob off the Blue Ridge Parkway several times, but we want to try some place different.

    Much appreciated!

Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can.
    Pursuing it with eager feet
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say."

Burrells Ford. There's a walk in campground or you can hike up the Chattooga River Trail towards Ellicott Rock. It's 1.5 miles to the huge area we have hangs at but there are more spots before that. There are tons of different hikes you can do in that area, including visiting Ellicott Rock, if you can find it. There's a hatchery you can hike to and check out. And you can trout fish there as well, you just need a Ga or SC fishing license.

    Thanks for the reply!

That's a good idea. I've been camping there a dozen times at one of the many sites between BF and Ellicott, but I've never been to the actual campground. Is that a place where you need to reserve a site? How many sites are there? Do the sites have fire rings or tables or anything, or are they more like the backpacking sites along the trail?

No need to reserve, not sure how many there. I came in from the trail the one time I stayed there. I know you have to park in the lot and carry all of your stuff in, They have fire rings and a separate fire ring with grill for cooking. There's at least one site with a picnic table. It's basically a collection of backpacking type sites with trails weaving throughout and grills, bear cables, and at least one picnic table. Some sites are next to the river. There is a bathroom and trash cans. The trail to King Creek Falls is in the campground as well.
