    It's 5.75 oz. for a 9.5 ft. bugnet, so it's probably 6.4 oz. for a 10.5 ft. bugnet, etc.

Certainly one way to reduce the weight of the bugnet is to reduce the dimensions. For example, that Nano7 in your profile could get away with a 9 ft. or shorter bugnet that would probably weigh around 5 ounces.

I personally prefer 11 ft. hammocks so I'm kinda stuck with a longer bugnet. Derek Hansen's review says the NanoBuginator is 6 oz.

I've got two NanoBuginators and a Buginator. I never cinch up the bottom and have yet to get a bug inside. Then again, I use permethrin.

The 9.5 ft Nexus fits both of my 10 foot hammocks perfectly. I wondered about the length when I bought it, but the 9.5 ft. sizing is deceptive, since a 10 foot hammock is less than 10 feet long once it's hanging.

The lightest bugnet is to just use a head net and it's actually what I use.
Your top quilt covers the rest of your body and you don't get touched by any bugs.

Here's another possibility. Not full coverage and requires an UQ of some kind.

I have the Warbonnet Travel Net. Its the lightest out there I've found with a zipper. Brandon does a nice quality job. If your looking for it for an 11' hammock you will need the 2qzq LCD extenders to reach past the gathered ends. Mine with extenders weighs 8.5 oz. I looked at the fronkey style net, but liked the zipper opening as opposed to the shock cord. Might be able to lose some weight by taking off metal zipper pulls and not getting the extenders for 11'. It will still fit, just tends to slide down on either end.

Hammocking, car camping, backpacking, kayaking, and mountain biking. Getting in touch with nature is getting expensive. Good thing I can DIY!

I guess it really depends on what you are willing to sacrifice for the sake of shaving grams. The HUG seems like a good compromise or you could go 100% fronkey style with just the head bug net.

I got massacred with about 20 bites up one side of me in a hug net after chasing away a possum that was chewing my bag. I've gotten away with the hug loads of times and it's great for a lighter option but when the bugs are really swarming I'd go with a full Fronky style.
