I was told by Marty in his shop, that seam sealing wasn't necessary. I've been using it for a year in some torrential downpours and it hasn't leaked once.
have had my big daddy since 2011...never leaked once..not even a little
Ive had a few drips come through in one storm. I've sealed it since then.
I have sealed the pull outs on my tadpole, but I trust that my ridgeline will not leak. the method used to sew the two pieces of fabric together makes it difficult to leak. I was told by the manufacturer that the ridgeline could be sealed for peace of mind, but it's not necessary.
WildernessLogics, Marty & Crew's workmanship is great and their products are tough--almost bombproof. I've got his largest tarp for several years and it never leaked!

My new OMW wasn't sealed either and when it rained the other night, leaked some. I used the cheap sealer from Walmart for now and it worked OK, and the tarp only leaked In the spots I didn't get real well. I'll take that stuff off and redo it the right way when I can. To do the grosgrain tabs inside that hold the hammock back I used the spray sealer with the orange cap and it worked great. Could I use that stuff on all the seams?

I've only had experience with silnet. silnet works great, is easy to apply, and dries nicely (no tackiness). if you do the spray sealer on the ridgeline, I'd like to hear the results.
This is the stuff I was talking about, its by Atsko and I got it from Walmart. It seemed to work great on the grosgrain tabs inside for tying back your hammock since I couldn't use the liquid sealer on them. While I was at it I just did the RL and the pull outs too. I figured I'd try it and see if it works. I will definetly spread it out inside and re do the whole thing the right way if needed, but surprisingly its worked just fine so far. Has anyone else used this stuff? I also re-treated my Gore-Tex Moonstone outer shell jacket and the winter cover for my WBBBXLC since the spray keeps fabric breathable while making it waterproof at the same time.
