Hammock Gear - Manufacturers and Services Section Question

Has anyone ever noticed some of those sections have the orange circle around the hanging man (like such forum_new-48.png) and others don't have the orange circle around the hanging man (like such forum_old-48.png). Does the orange circle mean those companies are active on the forum or what? Maybe I'm just a noob.

It's a designation across all of the forum that shows a section has new posts. If you have viewed the posts (or marked them as read) then the Orange circle goes off for you. When a new thread is posted to the section you will see the circle. It's all dependent on your views of the threads in each section not anyone else's activity.
