    I don't know - FYI he did a high pitch for the camera (nothing wrong here) - if you are ever in this as a pinch the pitch must be sides on the ground! knocking wind that gives wind chill is key to survival. Personally after trying out this stuff in the field... its not in my backpack. Cuban or sil is still the best way to knock chill in a pinch with a compressible down bag.
    There was an Old Man with a owl,
    Who continued to bother and howl;
    He sat on a rail, And imbibed bitter ale,
    Which refreshed that Old Man and his owl

    Looks like it would work in a pinch, that or maybe something you could put under a real tarp for added warmth or heat retention in winter.
    It would be cool to find some ripstop nylon that has a reflective surface on one side.
    Living Minnesota! Great Land, lousy politics. But hey, my family is here so......

    I think you'll find the Polycro to be surprising. It has some stretch to it, because of that it will be superior to the mylar which has little or no stretch to it.

    Grommets are usually problematic. Choose to reinforce tie outs and RL with Gorilla Tape or something similar and/or just gather the corner material around a small rock then clove hitch the tie-out around it. You will usually puncture or put a hole into Polycro before it actually tears in the wind. A few feet if Duct tape wrapped around a Trekking pole will also provide a lot of minor and even some major repairs out on the trail.

    Is it good? Is it UL? yes. Would I depend on it for two nights. NO. But I think I'd be pretty happy to have it in an emergency situation rather than the space blanket.

    Even if you glue mylar to polycro, you'll still end up with a fragile disposable tarp.

    Disposable, is probably the key word to this entire discussion.

    I scratch my head at the Polycro ground sheet folks too. I mean they still sleep down there
