Hey I decided today to load up the backpack with about 43 pounds, just to get some backpacking in. While walking (hiking) around the subdivision... Someone riding a Harley nightrider approached me; shut of his bike, and asked if I was preparing for a through hike. I was thinking a through hike of the subdivision about 2.3 miles, but I new what he was talking about. He said he was preparing for the AT and was excited about it.

Bottom line is when you have a backpack on you. People want to stop and talk to you.
