    Mods on YOUR DH

Thought it would be a great idea to have a thread listing some of the unique mods people have had done to their Dream Hammocks.

My tbird, - gear loops,, 2 custom sized interior zipper pockets ,, beverage holder (not sure how we all got by without these before), upgraded to 1/8th amsteel for extra strength and durability ,, double layer Hyper D for strength, and changed the color of the zipper hoods to black just for some accent, contrast.Peak shelve, and added single wing per layer making it 72 inches wide,, the most comfortable hammock i've ever laid in!!

Now that is a slick looking set up. I am a fan of that camo pattern.

Great thread idea. I too, am interested. I will be ordering a DH, just as soon as I figure out exactly what I want. This thread should help me tremendously. Thanks OP.

I have been giving it much thought as well. Looking into buying a Roaming Gnome. I'm torn between a wide 10'er or an 11'er.

As far as options go, I would like at least a top gear loop, peak shelf, pack hooks to match a new UGQ UQ, storage pockets of sorts and extra zipper sliders.

Does anyone have any input on these sizes or options?

I have an 11 foot DangerBird with Gear Loops on both ends and pack hooks for my UGQ zeppelin. The pack hooks make it super easy to keep your under quilt snug against your shoulder. The small carabiner on the gear loops are handy for connecting a stuff sack or whatever else you can think of.

    This is my order:

    NightHawk
    Length: 11ft
    Layers: Double Layer
Outside Layer Fabric: 1.9 A-Tacs FG Camo
Inside Layer Fabric: 1.0oz Coyote Brown HyperD
Overcover Fabric: 1.9 A-Tacs FG Camo
    Suspension: Whoopie Sling
    Asym Lay: Right

Added gear Loops: 7/64 Amsteel Loops. I'm planning to hang a small hammock inside the Nighthawk for my 1 y/o boy to sleep in. I hope it works :-)

I got an 11' Roaming Gnome and the Smurfs were kind enough to indulge me by making it with the shelf and it is great. Mine is the standard width of 57-58 in 1.6 HyperD Grey with yellow peak covers, and it has been great. I am 6' so I have no trouble reaching past the shelf to get to the net zipper pulls, but some shorter folks have mentioned that it is difficult to reach up to the peak (shelf or not) and that the double zipper option makes that much easier to deal with. There are many variables available in a DH hammock, but the one immutable constant that should be know to all...The Smurfs are great to deal with, they will answer all your questions and they give great advise based on their experience and their commitment to your satisfaction with their products!! Based on my RG and the process involved I would have a tough time buying elsewhere.
