Ideas for guying out tarp doors?

I am swapping out guylines on my HG Cuban tarp with doors with reflective ones. I noticed that I am using identical length lines on each door and tying them to their own stakes. I have to think I'm carrying extra weight and making this more difficult than what it needs to be. I saw Dutch's video for the "tarp door clips", but its hard to tell from the video how they are rigged. What are you guys doing to rig your doors? Any using shock cord and how long?

I use shock cord and it is cut about 2/3 the length of the door with a clip from dutch attached. I simply clip it to the opposite side corner guy line. I am not sure if you are referring to the video I did or not, if not click the link in my signature and you will see it on my channel. I hope this helps.

Just watched yours. Very good and informative. I understand your method for the door even though there is not a real good shot of it. Are you using 1/8 shock cord?

Shug is the man - my wife says he cost us $10,000 in hammocking gear I think she exaggerated.

I am just glad that you validated my belief that Dutch is confusing. I think he has inhaled too much titanium.

Its all good. I went to Dutch's open house a while back as a newbie and was welcomed with open arms. Met Dutch, Adam from HG, and Tim from 2qzq along with many others. Had an awesome time and left there with tons of "Dutch Doodads".

I use an 8" section of 1/8" shock cord tied to a 3 foot section of Z-packs Z line with a mitten clip on each of the 4 doors. If I'm in storm mode, I'll use one stake for the doors on each end. If the weather is fair, I clip the doors to each other (on the inside) of the tarp. This turns my Superfly with doors into a standard hex tarp. Hope this helps.
