I'll call it a qualified success. Not the prettiest thing in the world but it looks to be more that functional.
The basic plan was the DIY Gear Supply 11 foot hex tarp with a few tweaks here and there. For the tie out points, I used triangles rather than Ds.
For the assembly, after my cuts, I did the ridge first, then corner reinforcements, then rolled hem all the way around, and finally the tie outs.
I went with Dutch fleas for the ridge lines and the Dutch linelocs with a modified Shane tensioner for the guy outs.
All in all, a great learning experience. I'd definitely do it again. Just not this week... Gives one a great appreciation for what our wonderful cottage vendors do everyday.
