Looks really good so far. How did you sew the ridgeline? Did you do a flat felled seam and then the grosgrain or a different way?

Bling is on the way from Dutch. CRL and some tarp worms!
I did it "warbonnet style" as far as I know. Single 1/4" hem and folded some 3/4" grosgrain over that and sewed it down. We'll see how it holds up when finished.
A few minutes to inject before work this morning. I can't stop once I get a project started. Finished adding thread to reinforcements. Just have to sew on the tieouts and I think it will be done.
Looks good now lest see the finished project in the trees. I think I might use this to make me one. Thanks for the pics.
This one is done and I'm pretty happy with it.
Added some bling, tarp worms are lighter than light.
Hung in the backyard on a CRL from Dutch.
Seeing how the DIY hammock hangs underneath.
Pitched tight and the tieouts look good.
I ended up swapping the tarp to have the ridgeline run under instead of over. I'm not sure what difference it makes really. I'll probably spend a couple hours googling HF for the answer
Slept in the backyard last night, even got some rain. All was well.
Thanks to everyone that offered help on this project or the thousand other DIY threads that I researched to gain the confidence to stitch the first threads. Thanks to Dutch and Ripstop by the Roll for the goods.
Mainly you will defeat the purpose of the cat cut on your ridgeline.
It's not actually a cat cut ridge, only the other edges are. It does hang as if I cat cut the ridge, but it is straight as an arrow when not under tension. Oddly, it keeps that shape for the most part when under or over the CRL...weird right?
It looks like an intentionally cat cut ridge seam to me as well, but it is just the flat edges of the fabric sewn together.
