    Cool PHOTOS: Post-Cyclone Hang

Finally home after a few days in the bush and on the trail. My brother and I went hiking and hanging around Main Range National Park in Queensland (Australia), after an unforgiving cyclone had ravaged the region. Lucky for us, the cyclone had lost strength early on and was more of a low pressure system by the time it had arrived at our location. It's a hot and humid area, so the light rain and strong winds were rather welcome. We were hiking for 3 days overall. Progress was slow and our overall milage is nothing to write about, mainly due to the fact that temperatures had peaked at 37 degrees during the expedition with very high humidity readings. With that said, it was nice to revisit a favourite old campsite and explore new ones too.

We spent our nights in our Hennessy Hammocks and couldn't have been happier with the comfort they provided us with It was also the first trip that we'd used our Lifestraws, meaning that we could carry a collapsible Nalgene bottle, collect water from running creeks and filter the naughties out. When it's that hot, the ability to collect and filter water on the move is priceless.

Looking forward to the next adventure!

Very cool. It would be a dream to hang in that part of the sphere some day. Photos were excellent.

It looks like great area for a bushwalk and also prime hammock territory.
    Thanks for sharing.

Can't help being a bit envious of all the greenery you shared. Your photos well done. Views of mountains great and the tarp and rain water splash a reminder of good sleeping. Thanks for sharing and keep the trips coming.
