    Hanging Cold and Feeling Old!

    Hanging Cold and Feeling Old!
    EGL Winter Back Country 2014-2015

Back from a great weekend wintercamping up in Ontario's Kawartha Highlands Provincial Park. with a respectable -25.5 °C Friday night. Despite the cold it was lots of fun, all except the first and last hours of the trip. Full report to follow...

Looks like you figured out how to beat the cold. I can't help you with the old part; haven't figured out how to beat that myself! Lol

Pretty soon you will forget about the cold and just remember the fun and do it all over again!

It was a great trip despite my back feeling old! Nothing like hanging out with a good bunch of guys in the piney woods. It was nice to catch up with friends as well as make some new ones. Thanks to everyone for making this trip so enjoyable! Looking forward to the Spring Canoe Trip!

Crossing Sucker Lake to our campsite

My set up. WBBB, WBSF tarp with make shift pole mod using the my sled poles, UGQ 0 degree Zeppelin and Flight Jacket, MEC 8x10 tarp set up for cooking when the snow started.

You can never have too much hot water on a winter camping trip for food, hot drinks and hot water bottles for sleeping.

Feeling warm dressed in wool from head to toe.

Heading home after a great trip. Sorry it's over but looking forward to the next hang.

Luckily the trail is shared my snowmobiles and cross country skiers so no breaking trail needed thank God.

Great pictures and thanks for sharing them with us. Hey we had 2 inches of snow down here today.
    Straight out of Clayton.

Most physical hike: Grandfather Mountain, NC. Aug 13.

I don't need to make my pack lighter. I need to make my (_*_) lighter.

A thing of beauty! Love all that wool! What did you use to keep warm in your hammocks? Is that a chimney for a wood burning stove? Luxury! Believe it or not, down here in the tropics we are under a winter storm warning. But a lot of our winter storm warnings, rare as they are, still never amount to anything. Still, it been kind of a crazy winter.

Still very bummed I didn't make the trip!!! Thanks for the pics Bubba. Hope you all stayed warm.
As for me, I'm making good progress on the health front.
Probably better I didn't make it. Time for personal and credit card healing. lol After the last outing I wound up getting A Smokehouse hammock shelter, kni-co alaska jr stove, a gransfors bruk ax, a squirrel cooker and a GSI kettle. I was even looking for the wood set up that Iguana had, wooden bowl, fork and spoon.
Looking forward to a kayak/camping outing up there. How to I go about looking for a visitor fishing license?
