Why no more links in signatures?

I used to have links to my hiking blog, Youtube channel, and more importantly, any upcoming hangs I'm hosting (link to the trip planning thread).
Now URL tags are no longer permitted in my signature. Why?

The URL's are showing up but no direct link. You could try to link them again.

I usually wrap URL tags around them, but that's not the way it works now, I guess. It looks like the site automagically turns them to links.
