Thumbs up First hang, Stub Stewart SP, OR.

Did my first hang last night. You guys weren't kidding. I crawled in at 8 after it got dark, lights out at 930, and aside from a couple bio breaks, slept like a rock until 9 this morning!

I camped in the Brooke Creek hike-in camp, which is a part of the L.L. Stub Stewart park, a little less than half a mile from the welcome center. 0210151528-00.jpg

I set up with a couple hours of daylight left and explored my surroundings a bit. I think I may need larger tree straps...

It was kinda neat last night, I could watch the fog sock in around the little hill I was just beneath. Then it got cold. I was glad I brought a foam pad, reflectix pad AND PLUQ. Between all that and my 20* bag, was comfortable, but I never overheated.

My setup the next morning. There was some condensation, so I have to dry out my bag, but otherwise, it all worked pretty darn well. I haven't slept that well in... well, within remembering.

Alright, so... now I'm hooked, thanks a lot!

Nice pics...I've forgotten what green vegetation looks like with the exception of pine trees.

Great looking set up you put together. Looks like you're in for many a comfy night in the piney woods.
Everyone ought to believe in something....I believe I'll go set up the hammock!

Very nice. Been thinking about biking out there and doing a Hang also. Beautiful area. I worry about 4' huggers in the PNW.

Nice first trip report. My wife and I are both new to hanging. Our first trip will be next month. We are planning to hike fron Cochran pond to Wheeler at the coast. This will be our first hang. We are experienced ground dwellers, not new to backpacking.
