Hey NC hangers!!! There's a hang in your neighborhood, Lets rock it.

Hi all you NC hangers. We don't really have an established State Hangers group yet, but we may in the future, but until then we need to get out into the NC woods and hang. A couple of NC hangs that could use your presence are the Yates Hang at Uwharrie in NC. There are lots and lots of trees. This is a laid back hang, with food and hiking trails. Hosted by Miyanc. It's March 6th-8th.
Fatt Butt Hang at Merchant Mills NC. It's Hosted by Gunner76 and Terminator. These are some great hosts. The site has flushing toilets and hot showers, Kayaking, hiking and great food. It's April 16th-19th.
Then there's the Smoke Butt Hang at Falls Lake outside Raleigh/Durham NC. Hosted by me this year. It's a great place. Flushing toilets, hot showers, kayaking, trails, fishing, great company and great food. It's May 27th 4pm-May 31st 3pm.
Please show some love for the NC woods and come out and hang with us.
If you don't like my cooking there's always MRE's.***Hotlips

I will be at the Fat Butt Hang,,,and going to do my best to be at the Yates Place Hang and hope to get to Umstead. Can't make the Smoked Butt due to work.

There are at least 145 hangers here in NC according to Flatline's speadsheet...https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...mc&hl=en#gid=0 and I know there are a lot more than that.
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !

That's probably a conservative estimate. SC only shows 100 on the spreadsheet but PSH boasts over 200 members, almost all in SC. Beyond that, I meet new hangers pretty regularly at our local outdoor shops.

Hangers are everywhere - just gotta reach out to 'em!
I used to be a somebody, now I just camp.

Yeah I tend to agree that there are a lot more hangers in NC then on the spreadsheet. I know of 2 not on that sheet.
    Straight out of Clayton.

Most physical hike: Grandfather Mountain, NC. Aug 13.

I don't need to make my pack lighter. I need to make my (_*_) lighter.

This is going to be a very busy year. My calendar is starting to fill up quick. Yates is no for us and Umstead is a yes.

Any NC hangs in the WNC/Asheville area? Seems like a lot of folks gather further east.

John Rock hang is usually in July. Not far from ya. Running Feather, Hanging Burrito and Carolina Backpacker host that one.

IIRC last year's John Rock sprang up with very little notice and conflicted with the Higher Colder Roan hang.

I haven't been to either yet, but something like the Roan, or even a mid summer hang in Mt. Rogers would be nice.
The weather is a lot cooler at those elevations. A long way to drive though.
