Zing-it here also. Made an adjustable one akin to a long whoopie sling.

"Rope" is such a harsh word, don't you think?
Lash-it here because its grey, more stealthy than the yellow Zing-it I was using before.

My first answer was for the hammock with the Zing-it RL.
Since the original question didn't specify, for my tarp, I use Lash-it CRL(Continuous Ridge Line).

So seeing that just about everyone uses zing-it, is amsteel a bad choice?
I use an amsteel SRL which I made detachable to get it out of the way of my head when I sit in my Blackbird hammock. I also use Lash-it on another hammock.

These are all fantastic answers. Thanks so much for the guidance everybody!
It seems like Zing-it is the most popular choice. Amsteel seems to be considered a bit "over-kill" but a strong choice, nonetheless!
I do like the flexibility/customization properties that Amsteel has to offer.
Amsteel is much easier to splice than dynaglide. I haven't used zingit but I assume it is marginally more difficult than dynaglide. Even so, I wouldn't say dynaglide was difficult.
For the length of a ridge line I don't think the weight difference is very much. Dynaglide or lash it will pack slightly smaller but whether or not that is significant is up to you.
I think the main concern is stretch, and all the dyneema lines fit the bill, for around $5 from dutch.
Zing it ridgeline. One from Dutch and one from Arrowhead, depending on the hammock
The more I learn about people, the more I like my dog.
Amsteel. Zing-it and Lash-it are all made of Dyneema fibers are are very strong and light for their size/bulk. The main difference is their size and color choices for the Amsteel.
Zing-it is yellow and Lash-it(same line) is grey. Amsteel is 7/64 at the smallest diameter and would be considered overkill for a RL that is not full weight bearing since the limit is at 1200lbs and greater.
