Using Speed Hooks as Whoopie Hooks

Has anybody done this? The stresses would be distributed differently and there shouldn't be any slippage. I wanted to ask because my son(who only weighs 100#) has pilfered my set but I acquired another set from someone else.

This does work, however depending on which version you received, the hole will be a little tighter. Not a bad thing but it won't slide quite as freely on the whoopee sling. Also the hook is a little different and not as user friendly as the whoopee hook.
