    HHSS undercover with synthetic quilt

I did some simple searches and was not able to find any definitive answers, but has anybody ever used their HHSS undercover paired with something like a Potomac or Jarbidge 3 season? I see the JRB Nest doesn't recommend it because it would compress the down too much, but from what I've seen from my Jarbidge it doesn't look like it would compress it much if any.

I use a PLUQ to supplement my SS in colder weather. I have also used a jarbidge but for me the poncho liner works better.

Assuming that you can hang the SS undercover loosely enough (I've never used one, so this is just based on my own DIY sil undercover and down underquilt experience), yes, you can supplement with an underquilt. However, as the SS undercover is a vapor barrier, you are definitely going to want to use a vapor barrier between yourself and the underquilt (I've found that my best method is to place a space blanket between the underquilt and the hammock body, as this keeps it out of direct contact with my skin but still close enough to keep vapor from condensing on it).

    Hope it helps!

Oh boy, that will be a test! If too cold, put that UQ under the entire HHSS. Don't forget your space blanket between hammock and all under insulation.

Night one. No cbs. Top quilt/bag got a little cool inside at times early this morning. No moisture.

Temp was 19F when I got up at 7:00. Wind chill of 14.

    Here's today's weather:

Did you put the sniveller inside or outside of the under cover? Wondering how much it actually compressed it.

Did they shut everything down? :-P

The team I'm working with now is in Nashville and they've all been snowed in for 3 days now. I just sit and laugh because I would be happy with only an inch of snow. I had to clear 6-8 inches off the driveway this morning, and it will likely be below zero in the morning again tomorrow.
