“I think that when the lies are all told and forgot the truth will be there yet. It dont move about from place to place and it dont change from time to time. You cant corrupt it any more than you can salt salt.” - Cormac McCarthy
I was satisfied with the ones I made up.
But for my NX-200, I should have made them larger
BECAUSE of the issue you mention.
The natural gaps between the pockets (where they're sewn to the hammock body) allow for cold spots.
If I can get MrPrez to agree to another set, I'll make them slightly larger so that they overfill the pockets a bit.
The other thing that helped with my original pocket-quilts was using my gear hammock as an undercover, strung up under the pockets. That reduced the heat loss through the gaps.
Before you get MrPrez to make another, I think you should contact Clark and ask them to furnish you a free set of their new quilt, seeing as how it's your idea
Well they either did not know about it, or are excellent poker players. When I was speaking with them about the Vertex I mentioned RAW's mini-quilts, which were just in the initial testing phase. They seemed very interested. Maybe it was because they were already moving in that direction, or maybe RAW is their new hero. Either way, RAW did it first and they ought to market them by telling people to go sleep in the raw.
Trust nobody!
This looks like this may be my next purchase from Clark for my NX-250...
I want to get some "cold weather time" first to make sure I'll need it. So far I've been rather comfortable to slightly warm in my Clark with temps down to 53*.
The set up looks pretty cool though, especially with the ability to pack your hammock away with the UQ attached... & the price seems pretty competitive compaired to the UQs I've read about thus far.

Has anyone actually seen this beast anywhere yet? In person, pics or video?
I just noticed that on the order page you can specify to get either the full kit for $189, the pockets insulation for $134 or the foot end covering for $55. I'm considering ordering the foot end alone to use in combo with the 2/3 UQ I have...
I emailed Clark customer service about more detailed pics or videos and got the following reply...
Thanks for your message. We will have more information and pictures for the
Z-Liner soon and eventually there will be installation videos to watch. For
now, just let us know what you need to see or understand about the Z-Liner
and we'll do our best to send you images and info that will help.

Update: When asked about how the Z-Liner will attach to my hammock...
We started applying the foot-end Velcro earlier this year. If you'd like
your hammock to have the Velcro added, simply mail it to us (without rain
fly) and we'll add it for $30 plus $5 shipping. Total $35.00.
If you plan to buy the Z-Liner then it makes sense to send your hammock when
you are ready to purchase the Z-Liner so we can send them back to you
together.
