Right now I still plan to be there, but as 2ply said, we need to see what things are like on Thursday. I come in from Blairsville, and at the top of the mountain at Hog Pen Gap there can be ice when it is no where else. I'm not looking for thrills on the road, just some quiet camping time.

Well, the ice storm got me pretty bad. Lots of downed/busted trees. Pretty disheartening. Not gonna make the camp, but I might visit Saturday evening if anybody else goes.

I start my new job as a Park Ranger on Sunday, so I won't be able to make this one.

Cool beans, which park? We should all come hang at that one, eh? Um, maybe not?

Looks like we won't be hanging at Raven Cliffs after all. Just saw this from the Chattahoochee - Oconee Alerts page

    Date(s): Feb 18, 2015
Contact(s): Chattooga River Ranger District 706-754-6221
Dukes Creek and Raven Cliff is closed until further notice due to adverse weather conditions.

Sorry for the short notice but I just found this tonight. Any suggestions on a new location or just wait for the first part of March? Many of the forest service roads are closed due to downed trees from the ice.

Thanks for the update 2ply! I'm open for an alternate location or waiting until March...either way!

It is seven degrees now on my porch, for Ga. that's cold. Let's plan for March.
