I have a truck bed whoopee that I use to secure my kayak. It's also used to secure other stuff that is hauled in my truck bed.

If you happen to camp/backpack with a small hatchet or fixed blade knife, you could wrap your handle with it. Helps with grip and makes it available in case you need it in a pinch when out in the woods.
Good idea....i usually use paracord but this would be better....especially if i wrappped up some 20g wire under the wrap to have a splicing tool on hand.QUOTE=bartlax4;1418531]If you happen to camp/backpack with a small hatchet or fixed blade knife, you could wrap your handle with it. I used Amsteel to replace throttle cable on 3 Linkbelt cranes. Cables were breaking way too often. The Amsteel has been there about 2 1/2 years now. Very true story.
we have a clothes line through pulleys that goes from back porch to tree 50' away. would break 3-4 times a year. used 100' of amsteel 4 years ago without a problem.
