    Having Under Quilt Deployed Constantly

    20150205_133359.jpg

So I'm rocking a turtledog stand in my living room (writing this post from the hammock actually, great place to watch TV from!) and its set up basically all the time. I have my warbonnet 3/4 under quilt hung up at all times also. I was wondering if this will hasten the wear on the shock cord on the under quilt and loosen it over time? Should I take it down when not in use?

Theoretically, yes, it will hasten the wear of the shock cord. But shock cord is cheap and easy to replace, so I wouldn't worry about it.

    UPDATE:

It definitely has loosened over time. I recently took the quilt down and retightened the shockcord (moved the knot down a bit). The yeti is now a true 20* quilt again. Just thought this might be helpful for some who leave quilts hung on hammocks frequently like myself. The shock cord does lose some elasticity over time.

I replace my UQ shockcord every other year just for good measure.
I do keep a hammock kit setup on my screened in deck year round and try to get out there a couple nights a week.
So the shockcords do get used quite a bit.

    This winters rig.

I was wondering this just the other day. I had mine set up in the basement for about a week, and just yesterday I unhooked one side to keep it from stretching.

Ya thats what I'm doing now, take down under quilt and put it in the hammock when not in use.
