    a tent fly sheet

    hi all i was wondering if i could re purpose a tent fly sheet into a down underquilt?
    the fabric is a light nylon of a cheap tent it still has its dwp intact

    Not likely. The fly should be treated with something more than DWR....like polyurethane to make it waterproof where as just a DWR is only a surface treatment to resist moisture. For a quilt you want breathable fabric so that your body moisture can pass through rather than getting trapped inside the insulation. This allows your insulation to dry as well so that you don't have mold start to grow in the insulation.
