cool, any pics to help me wait the next 10 days or so until mine gets delivered ?
All the gear and no idea.....
My pics are on page two and I'll post more after I test the UQ some more.
I think the four corner method has less slack than stretching the UQs shock cord over the spreader bar ends (as there is only a few inches of shock cord in the entire system compared to feet and feet of it) although I haven't tried it so can't be sure.
The great thing about the four corner method or the prusik method for the partial length under quilt I showed is you can give it a try without modifying the UQ permanently and it's extremely cheap or even free to try it out (you can tie it in place with some string to try it out to see if you like it).
Thanks TT.
I don't know how honest of a reading I'll get with this setup Saturday night. As of now, the low will be 10 deg and has been dropping so I'm thinking about supplenting with a CCF pad. We'll see how it goes, this will be the coldest I've been in overnight in the scary woods.
I couldn't fall asleep with a cool to cold back so I added the foam pad and it helped enough to sleep comfortably. I just couldn't get the Incubator to seal the RR, it's too wide to seal against the Inc. I think even if you ran shock cord from one side, over a ridgeline, and back to the other side, the bottom would be snug but the sides will be taller than the Inc, not sealing and letting heat escape. I'll be ordering a Lynx and 25" pad to try out.
I ended up having a custom made Arrowhead New River made at 40" wide. Fits great but still needs some support up and over the netting to hold the sides in - probably due to the extra weight of synthetic.
