    Repair/Down Question

So I got an Incubator from a member on here last year and I have questioned the amount/condition of the down. It was sold as a 0 Degree Quilt overstuffed with 4 oz. I am having a hard time buying that. I was wondering if it is an option to send it in to HG for a "repair" type service to make sure I in fact have the amount of down needed, at least for a 0 degree UQ. I am new to down and I just feel like there isn't as much loft as there should be with this amount of down.

My understanding is the way the hammock gear quilts are designed they appear less lofty than they are. You may try just weighing the quilt and comparing that to the specs posted on the website.

Check the weight, and the model. Older models came with different material so it also affects the weight.

First thoughts on down can be deceiving.I hope it is the correct amount.I wish all companies would tag items for exactly what they are.

I will send out an email to see what an older model with 4oz over stuff would have weighed. Then try to track down a scale. It did it's job last year. I'm just a bit skeptical about being overstuffed 0 degree bag. I sleep hot, so it's hard to say.

Do you know what kind of material the shell was made of? If so, we might be able figure out the weight difference vs today's Argon 67 models.

Don't HG quilts come with a temp rating tag? Mine isn't even a stock offering and it has one. I thought I'd seen pics of +1, +2, etc. tags to indicate overstuff too. Am I mistaken?

Outdooraddict- Have you tried to hold the quilt up to a bright light/window to see how much of the baffles are filled with down after fluffing it? I can see mine pretty well through the .67 black but 1.1 in various colors may be harder to see through.

    FWIW-
I just got a Burrow and Incubator last week and both show 20⁰ on the tag even though they are each overstuffed with 2oz.

Yeah, when I first got it from the guy it was really bad. see right through the middle. maybe i am just being paranoid, i did a lot of work trying to redistribute the down to each baffle. I think it got messed up when he washed it.
