Shack cord and attached bug netting

I have a hammock with attached bug netting. I love the netting but i hate rigging it. I was thinking of using a REALLY long piece of shock cord to suspend my net. Has anyone ever done/seen this? Heres a picture of my hammock for reference. Just wanted opinions before i spent the money on shock cord.

How would shock cord be an improvement? It's gonna go through the same loops as the cord you're currently using, but it will just be stretchier.

i was thinking it would move with the bug net better than the 550 that is currently on it. I was really just wondering if anyone had seen it before.

Seems like shock cord would just sag more. I am not sure I understand why you think the ridgeline needs to move with the bugnet.

I believe he wants the shock cord to act like a line tensioner, to prestretch it before he hangs the bugnet so it's always tight. Is that where you're going? Although I see the logic, I don't think it will work. SilvrSurfr is right, you'd need to use some really strong shock cord to keep it from sagging. Can you install a Structural Ridge Line?
