Does anything special need to happen to have posts in the new recipe sub-forum show up in the "New Posts" list or under our personal "Recently Started Threads" list? I just made two posts, one in the Suspension forum and one in the Recipes forum. The suspension post is showing up under New Posts and in my started threads history. The recipe post isn't.

Does some indexing job need to run, or some flag need to be set to make new posts in those locations behave the same way as posts in other forums, or is it just a matter of being patient?

It's there. New posts only show the ones you haven't read.. since you were the author, you've read it. It was New to me, so I can vouch for it being there.

I realize I'm in the minority, but I feel misunderstood and outraged in an Allen Iverson kind of way. He didn't take too kindly to people calling him out on not practicing. Larry Brown and Allen agreed to disagree.

    With "practice" counter:

SS....that is a hilarious bit Allen Iverson had. Never saw it before but thoroughly enjoyed the clip.

"We talkin' about Practice " good stuff thanks for the laugh!!!

As far as I can see, your "Recipe: Raw Manna Crackers in Food & Recipes" shows everyplace it should...New Posts, DanglingModifier's Activity, Find latest started threads, etc.

Think of sub forums like folders that contain files on your computer you don't want all your files under one folder so you make sub folders but if you have too many sub folders it also makes it hard to find stuff. Then you create sub folders within sub folders and it becomes impossible. This forum is much like that and too many sub forums make it harder to navigate. I am not saying that I am for or against this idea what I am saying is I understand the mods discretion when it comes to the idea of creating more sub sections.

I understand what you are saying because I do that on my PC all the time after a while I can't find anything.
That said if I am interested in reading about filtering water I don't want to slog thru food an stoves.

This move will also help me lose a little weigh since I only need to look at the food posts for about 5 minutes before I am up sticking my nose in the fridge. haha
