    I made mine to equal the length of the spreader bars so the head end is longer than the foot end. The shorter the doggones, the more compression forces on the spreader bars but if left at a reasonable length it should not be a problem. Also, a shorter triangle would effect 'tippyness' somewhat but mine is not enough to notice.

    I shortened mine to 12' between the apex triangles (not the webbing strap cinch buckles). I just fits under my 12' RL tarp.

    Not much to show. The first pic is the shortened 'V' with the original 'V' clipped in place to show the difference in length. Hooked to Warbonnet type cinch buckles. The second pic shows the Dutch biners with Ti Cinch buckles. The Dutch biner replaces the small triangle shaped original hardware.

    Did you shorten the existing triangle (amsteel?) or create new ones?
