Great views. We definitely don't get anything like that where I go. Seems to be the HHSS is as much a process as it is a solution.

I use the full HHSS below 45F, definately with the Space Blanket.

I will pull out the pad and SB above 50F, but keep the Under Cover on unless it's Summer in Georgia.

I use a Down TQ and don't have problems even in driving rain or cold down to the 25F range with the HHSS.

I use the HHSS and I second everything dudeman said. I've been very happy with my setup.

I've hung down to 18° F with my HHSS a space blanket and a poncho liner on top of the normal pad. It was rather toasty and I did experience a bit of condensation. I laid the poncho liner over the space blanket and it soaked up most of the moisture. Never felt it inside the hammock. For those of you using the HHSS with a space blanket, are you putting it above or below the pad?

Sb goes above the pad, between you and any insulation.

I have added extra insulation under the ss pad with success.

Maybe if you were "rather toasty" (even at 18F! not bad!) it was sweat rather than condensation? Could be. Condensation occurs when warm vapor hits a cold surface. If you were toasty, it's not likely that a layer against your toasty back would be cold enough to cause condensation. It's an idea anyway, but who knows?

Great advice! I haven't seen anyone state it in such simple terms based on ranges of temps. Thanks!
