I'm seriously thinking about splurging on a cf tarp. Does anyone out there have a tarp by HG in the green color? I'm wondering if it's translucent like the white ones are. I prefer the green color but I also would like a tarp that lets in as much light as possible for those gray, rainy days I'm stuck in camp.
It's all about priorities
You will be happy with the green being translucent enough and with the HG tarp.
Even moon light will shine through enough so you can see, you can almost make out the stars through it, but beware of summer days, you'll value the shade. I bike toured on GOBA a couple summers ago and I almost called a forum member to see if he'd bring a tarp out to me on the tour.

Ditto..I have white tarp and green snake skins. Translucency and shade seem identical.
I also can't see see that much of a difference..
