    New guy from fresno

Introducing myself from fresno ca. I am an avid out door guy but have always had trouble sleeping when outside. I am hoping I can change that with a hammock. I got a Grand Trunk Ultralight for xmas to see if I liked it.

Welcome to the addiction. It may take sleeping in the hammock multiple times to get it dialed in. Don't be afraid to ask questions. There is a wealth of knowledge here.
Keep movin', keep believing and enjoy the journey!

    Welcome, from Fresno.

You may want to get something other than paracord... that's not going to be strong enough, and tree straps are needed, especially when hanging from trees with soft bark.

Welcome to the forum neighbor. Lori is right about the straps and, well... everything so pay attention to what she says.

Paracord is rated at 550 lbs. It is plenty strong. However I am planning on making some straps and some woopie slings. Paracord is also too strechy. Nice to know some locals about. Thanks

Most would not object to paracord because of it's strength. The downside are the marks it leaves in the trees, the damage to them and to the reputations of hammockers.
